Develop a decision model to decide which IT skills and IT functions are essential from the point of view of company's strategy and use that model to decide what elements of IT should be outsourced and what should be implemented and mastered within the Company. Build relatively compact list of KPIs to measure AS-IS and track progress.
IT transformation programmes are expected to provide clearly specified benefits, including for example long-term IT-Business alignment, lower IT costs, shorter Time-To-Market, etc. IT outsourcing may help or prevent achieving those benefits when used inappropriately. Transparent decision-making model created on the basis of deep understanding of which functions are core of IT, must be one of the tools to maximize the benefits of transformation programmes.Read more about:
